Education is highly valued by our society. It can come in many forms including academic competition. By focusing on academic quiz bowl in our region we are able to help students have access to high-quality learning experiences via academic competition thus creating opportunities for students to develop the skills to improve their educational and economic prospects. Our organization exists to provide resources, programs, and support that empower students to reach their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Plan and support six tournaments in partnership with local hosting high schools
Plan and support one regional championship tournament at a local institute of higher learning
Students profit from these tournaments as they foster essential skills that benefit students in both their academic and professional lives. Students gain many skills, including:
-College & Career Readiness skills-research skills, study skills, retention techniques, organization, time management and strategic thinking

Develop and strengthen relationships between the quiz bowl community and public school districts, private schools and charter schools
Provide new coaches with resources and guidance in team development
Provide financial support with registration fees for the first year of new school participation
Hold instructional sessions for coaches and students to strengthen play

-District partnerships create greater understanding of the competition, the benefits of play and a means to honor individual schools, coaches and students.
-Players and coaches new to academic quiz bowl receive support from DSQBA both financially and through mentorship to help develop a strong long lasting program

Outreach to schools in the surrounding geographic regions to invite to tournaments in El Paso and provide support to meet their team/regional goals
